Yes I know, cross addiction is self explanitory. Crossing from one drug to the next and not being able to dicern you are still an addict. I do go to NA so I am aware of the term. All the more reason for peope to stop using meth before they fall prey to herion.
You’re totally wrong about the lack of withdrawals w/meth users, dickydoo. It’s really quite serious/complicated, physio-not psycho-logical symptoms. Fever, convulsions, anxiety-lasting, sometimes permanent, psychological problems, even brain dammage. Get your facts straight instead of assuming it’s mind over matter. An ex-H junkie/current user should know better. Early researchers thought opiate wd’s were in the user’s head, thought it was a ploy to get medicated. How accurate were they?
In all aspects drug addiction is all in your head. I thank you for you feedback. I do need more facts instead of my OPINION. I have found that life experiance told me, when I quit herion, that I found quitting meth was easier than quitting smoking cigarettes. Who some say is the most powere addiction on earth. I am sorry for anyone you know who has suffered from meth…I do say Im not down playing the addiction. As far as seizures go..you have something. I started having them right after meth.
Psychology:the science of the mind. To me can be used here…. I wanna know how the mind works, why certain drugs are harder to quit than other. Physiology is a branch of psychology dealing with the basics of the “normal” functioning of a living organism in its environment. I think that peole who are around other meth addicts..well those people are not “Normal”. Severe meth withdrawal syptoms occur in a small few, yet sever users…opiate withdrawal occurs with every user every level of use
this drug is a lifetime addiction. once a person does meth they will often relapse because once its in front of u u cant resist it. at least herion addicts have methadone to ween them selves off of it. ther is no way to ween yourself of meth PERIOD
I am proof that it not a lifetime addiction. I mentioned how i quit it…dissociation. I quit being around the drug and people who use it…so your saying if its in your face you will do it? I have had it in my face and chose not to use. I dont advocate methadone nor do I believe that it is an effective tool to quit herion. I agree with you on that aspect. There is a way however to ween of methadone. DONT GET ON THE PROGRAM! Sounds kinda stupid but going from herion to methadone is not the ?
Again, if meth is a lifetime addiction, I’m the 1st person in history to have quit it. You say “at least herion addicts have methadone to ween them selves off of it.” You know why there aren’t any “Meth” clinics…it is not as addictive as herion, hence why methadone clinics were frivolously created. You go there from bad to worse there. My father…who is 57 years old read your response, he hasn’t used meth for over 20 years now. AGAIN…OPIOIDS ARE THE MOST ADDICTIVE DRUGS ON EARTH!
I wonder if anyone who has commented have ever even used herion? Pnote77 mentioned meth withdrawal symptoms. Psychosis and other neurological conditions are very prevalent in conjunction with meth use. True there are a small amount of users who have these types of withdrawal symptoms. I have also found that people who use meth usually move on to herion. You know in music, herion has had more songs written about the addiction than any other. The Stones “Brown Sugar”, Lennon’s
“Cold Turkey” etc.
Opiates elicit their powerful effects by activating “opiate” receptors that are widely distributed throughout the brain and body. Two important effects produced by opiates, such as herion/morphine, are pleasure & pain relief. The brain itself also produces chemicals known as endorphins and natural opiates that activate the opiate receptors. The brain biolically produces opiates. The brain also produces endorphins that have an important role in the modulation of pain.
The brain doesn’t have a biological need for meth. When the brain is exposed to outside opiate use, naturally produced opiate levels drop. The cause of opiate dependece.Unless you have ADD or mental health issues RX stimulants may be needed but not meth. After many years of opiate use, the brain will not produce the essential/normal amounts of dopamine naturally needed for the mind n body & thats y herion is the hardest drug to beat. The brain depends on these opiate production levels.Meth is trash!
stay strong
I agree with everything you say. I had a roommate who would do meth at least 4 times out of the week and he’s now been clean for about 3 months.
Lol ty. I am glad to have someone give me a positive message instead of arguing about things they don’t understand or making stupid comments like “this drug is a lifetime addiction. once a person does meth they will often relapse because once its in front of u u cant resist it. at least herion addicts have methadone to ween them selves off of it. ther is no way to ween yourself of meth PERIOD”
It doesnt matter what you’re trying to quit if you want to quit you will. Will power is stronger than anything.
People are just whiny bitches–Who tell themselves they can’t. If you don’t believe you can quit-than you definitaly WON’Tsucceed.
—Mind over matter.
Awesome job on quitting.
My father died of a drug overdose and, I truly know how drugs can affect ones life. You’re video makes me proud of your emince willpower. god i cant spell. I wish the best for you. Your video is inspiring, maybe it’s because your an intellgent American.. haha.
Sorry just hadd to add thatlmao.
Damn Canadians eh? ^m^
its harder to get off methadone ten it is to get off heroin u douche and herion addict are addicts or life.
p.s get ur facts right u retard
Thank you so much for your kind, flattering, and sensible comments. In regards to any persons/ people that want to argue factual information with me that I have studied on MULTIPLE websites and books, without bios…..I WILL NOT CONTINUE ARGUMENTS unless I know an individual has “been there” and to put it simply…………Know what your talking about….do the research. It is all in the facts and data.
lol POST SCRIPT: I never have said that methadone is a cure all. Quite the contrary. I will repeat myself….going from heroin to methadone is simply going from bad to worse hence methadone is legal thus making the drug extremely difficult to pull off of and beat.
To get off meth you just lower your milligram dosage gradually, then when you’re at 0 you deal with it. You get a life and put drugs behind you. Easier said than done, of course, but it can be done. Don’t fool with all those sober houses and expensive rehabs, just remember how horrible your life was on drugs, get a job and spend your money on the things you couldn’t because you spent so much money on drugs.
appreciate your attemp dicky, but dude your info is waaaay off. You can get started on education by reading David Sheffs book called ” beautiful boy ” . Not only is meth phsically addicting but it is the only drug that actually changes your brain chemistry. Thus making the relapse rate much higher than all other drugs.
I will definitely do more research on Mr. Sheff’s keen insight on meth addiction, though I have the best book on earth and it’s entitled “LIFE EXPERIENCE” Look I have been there on both ends of the spectrum and again….I personally have never met ANYONE who EVER has had meth withdrawal. I have used meth in the past in all manners and forms. I quit it cold turkey with ABSOLUTELY NO WITHDRAWAL symptoms and I am the first person ever to not have withdraw! Give me some personal life experiences!!!!
Dont really feel the need to explain myself to a kid but ill try. As im sure you know meth was developed during ww1 to help troops get over hunger and fatigue. my experiance started in 1980. Ive talked to thousands of addicts since then. Today I am a recovering addict Who works in a treatment center for addictions. my own addiction ran 35 years. I most likely have pipes older than you. Good luck with your theory. Its possible you could kill more people than Saddam did before your done.
The science is pretty straight forward. Not that I would in any way doubt that your moms basement has the very latest in CAT scan and MRI technology. The physical changes to the brain make it in a whole different ballpark from opiates. Or any other drug.
You buy a cheap ticket to take a short ride, that beautiful flower is eatting your mind. You try so hard to quit but you’ll never admit, your the junkie
i’ve been clean 3 years , I LOVE METH but i also know out of those couple hours of the best feeling in the world comes a whole lot of misery and b.s.
